Character Name: Taria Wrynn
Character Canon: World of Warcraft
Character Age: 30s, probably late 30s
History: Wiki for Taria and the Film wiki
Canon Point: After speaking to Gamora and delivering clothing
AU/CRAU Summary: N/A

Personality: Taria wasn't always a Queen. She started her life as a peasant, something that really helps her build a solid foundation of how to treat people with respect and still maintain an approachability for all. This is only exemplified by her husband, who's side she rules at - sharing opinions and responsibilities. He trusts her enough to know that when she speaks, the words will hold value.

This kind of respect, not only from Llane but everyone on the council and in Azeroth, wasn't won overnight. There are years of foundation building that trust, through patience and caring. She's the type to wear her heart on her sleeve and be pulled in by someone's story - try to help them however she can whether it just be something as simple as a hot meal and warmth or fighting to protect them. It's a courtesy she extends to all races, as demonstrated in the film. Setting aside any prejudices against Orcs, she offers Garona soup, blankets, a change of clothes, and the removal of the chains still hanging around her neck. Even when Garona threatens her life, she dismisses it gently - the way a mother might when dealing with a temperamental child. She lets herself be the delicate one, often putting herself in harm's way because she knows either her brother or her husband are watching her back to make sure the extension of trust doesn't turn to bite her.

That delicacy is primarily utilized in her public persona, maintaining a bit more of an edge when in private. She lets her sharper wit come out, anything that might have gone unsaid while in public also emerging. She's an incredibly strong woman, able to defend herself and those she cares about when necessary, though diplomacy has certainly taken over more recently. She still prioritizes her children and works to ensure their well-being without stifling their development. Protecting them without sheltering them completely and instilling values in them from an early age. She teaches them both through lessons as well as with demonstration - ensuring that the next generation will carry on the Wrynn legacy properly and that they'll continue to care for the kingdom with the same passion as their parents. As much as she might loathe the idea of them being without one or both of their parents, at the end of the day she still has to be practical. To entertain the ideas of a worst case scenario and make sure her children are as prepared as they can be.

Despite all this, even the strongest have flaws. The trust she extends to strangers and seeming enemies alike doesn't always work in her favor. She strives to see the good in all, to work past any warnings she might pick up and believe that their hearts will remain pure... Even if they weren't so to begin with. For example, she trusts Garona enough to give her the dagger that's later used to kill her husband. While Taria isn't privy to the details surrounding the situation, the betrayal cuts deeply. It serves as both a reminder that not all she allows into her life are good and not all those she surrounds herself with will stay by her side forever. They could still be wounded or even die. It's a thought that stays with her each day, drives her to make the most of each moment and to not hold back certain things. No reason to leave things unsaid when it could only lead to possible regrets later on - especially in times of war.

Abilities: Taria is a skilled fighter, her primary weapon being a sword although she's proficient with daggers and hand-to-hand combat - able to defend herself quite well if necessary. She's also talented at quickly earning people's trust/mothering people no matter their age. As a Queen, she is a skilled and charismatic leader with political prowess and able to maintain her calm under even the direst of circumstances.

Inventory: A pack of clothing (including a formal dress and travel clothes), two daggers to fight with so she isn't unarmed on her first night, and the gold dress and blue-ish silver cloak with gold detailing she'd been wearing at her canon point (image references here and here for the dress and cloak.).

Aspirations: Something that is actually a really fascinating parallel that I would be interested in exploring is that at her canon point, the city of her birth, Duskwood, is burning and the area around the settlement in game is already burned. It would drive her commitment to assisting the city however she can and further exploring her "ties" to it. Also doing this as a regular person of sorts, not relying on her title at all to gain her any footing with the natives - taking her back to more humble beginnings that gave her the foundation of strength she's known for as she wasn't born into her royal title.
